Foothills United Way and FamilyWize Use Data to Help Local Community Battle Heart Disease, Diabetes & Mental Illness
Partnership has helped 2,638 community members in Boulder and Broomfield Counties; residents save $153,204.
Lafayette, Colorado—October 9, 2017—Foothills United Way and FamilyWize announced today that local Boulder and Broomfield County residents have saved $153,204 in 2016 on prescription heart disease, diabetes and mental health medications through the organizations’ partnership. The results come as United Way and FamilyWize launch a new aggressive, data-driven chapter in their joint community initiatives across the country. Using targeted data reports created by FamilyWize, Foothills United Way can now better evaluate what assistance our community needs most.
Key community highlights from the data report for Boulder and Broomfield Counties include:
· $48,023 savings on prescription heart disease and diabetes medications;
· $105,181 savings on prescription mental health medications;
· 2,638 total community members helped.
The free FamilyWize program saved participants an average of around 40 percent off of their prescription medications in 2016. Accepted at more than 60,000 pharmacies nationwide and covering all FDA-approved prescription medications, the FamilyWize card has no eligibility requirements and is available to anyone. Nearly 1,000 United Ways have collaborated with FamilyWize to help over 10 million Americans save more than $1 billion, with an average savings of around 40 percent since the partnership began.
