Foothills United Way's Volunteer Connection invites you to join us for the 20th annual Day of Caring! This year's event is on Friday, September 13 to better align with the National 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance.
Day of Caring is the largest, single-day volunteer effort throughout Boulder & Broomfield counties. The Day of Caring event provides an opportunity for local volunteers to get out into their communities, to learn about local nonprofit and government organizations and to give something back, all while having a great time. We welcome businesses & corporate teams, as well as community groups, families and individuals. All volunteers however, must be 18 years of age to participate.
Volunteer Projects take place between 8:00 am and noon with a post-event Celebration Picnic beginning at 12:30 pm. Projects vary in size and scope and in most cases include physical labor.
In 2012, nearly 1,200 volunteers rolled up their sleeves across our communities to landscape, paint, harvest, build, refurbish and much more during one morning. In all, volunteers completed 50 different projects for local organizations and contributed 4,772 hours of volunteer time. That time equates to an estimated economic value of roughly $105,127.
