Foothills United Way Joins #GivingTuesday Movement
Global Day of Giving Takes Place this Year on November 29
Lafayette, Colo., November 25, 2016— Foothills United Way is proud to participate in #GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. The movement was founded in response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
“#GivingTuesday is a day for giving back,” said Doug Yeiser, CEO, Foothills United Way. “We’re excited to be part of this movement that emphasizes the importance of coming together to address challenges in the community. We believe every day is an opportunity to make a difference and we’re glad #GivingTuesday can bring awareness to the cause.”
Since it’s founding in 2012, millions of people have come together on #GivingTuesday to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
Foothills United Way drives results through collaborative action across Boulder and Broomfield counties with an emphasis on strengthening families for early childhood success, working toward attainable housing for all and ensuring residents are prepared for crisis through strong community resilience. The organization’s goal is to address community challenges with innovative solutions that prevent problems from spiraling out of control and becoming more costly.
