Foundation

In 2000 the Board of Directors of Foothills United Way created the Foothills United Way Foundation as a supporting organization to enhance the work of health and human service programs in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

The original endowment was a result of the generosity of two families.  The estate of James Gould provided a significant gift received in 1998 and 1999.  In 2000, Stephen and Susan Polis Schutz made a donation that brought the value of the principal of the endowment to $1,200,000.

Using the earnings on the principal, the Foundation has made grants annually since 2001, aligning this funding to have the most impact in the areas of greatest need. To see the Foundation's grant history, click here.
