$100,000 AFI Grant Awarded to Personal Investment Enterprise Program

Lafayette, Colo., October 23, 2014— Foothills United Way, together with Boulder County Community Actions Programs, is pleased to announce that the Personal Investment Enterprise (PIE) Program has been awarded an Assets for Independence (AFI) Grant of $100,000  to use over the next five years toward matching savings plans for low-income individuals. The PIE program empowers low income individuals with financial literacy classes and incentivized savings plans. 
Rosemary Thompson, coordinator of the PIE program at Foothills United Way, said “This grant will enable 43 new participants to enroll in the program and pursue their goals toward financial stability. Beginning in November, matching funds will be provided to complement Individual Development Accounts so participants can pursue homeownership, post-secondary education, or new business development.”  continue reading...
